Bisoprolol Fumarate

Bisoprolol Fumarate is a selective beta-1 blocker. It works by blocking the action of epinephrine and other natural chemicals on the heart and blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure, slowing heart rate, and reducing cardiovascular strain.

Dosage by Body Weight

Typically administered once daily in the morning, with or without food. For hypertension, the starting dose is usually 5 mg once daily, adjusted up to 10 mg or 20 mg based on clinical response. For heart failure, treatment starts at 1.25 mg daily and is titrated slowly. Must not be discontinued abruptly.
